Mulching is a natural way to protect the soil and limit weed growth — without the need for chemicals. After harvesting crops or mowing cover crops, a layer of biomass remains on the soil surface, acting as a protective mulch. It prevents weed germination, retains moisture, and gradually decomposes, enriching the soil naturally.
